Becoming a school governor

Interested in becoming a Banwell school governor?

School governors play a vital role in organisational and educational development. While the role is voluntary, it requires commitment, dedication and an interest in the long-term success of all pupils, as well as the school itself.

Being a school governor is a rewarding way of making a voluntary contribution to the lives of local young people. We don’t expect you to be an expert in education, we welcome governors from all walks of life to bring different perspectives and views.

You just need to be interested in supporting our school, community and the educational outcomes of our pupils. In all decision making, the governors are committed to ensuring that the best interests of all children in the school are the highest priority.

Please contact the school office to find out more.

We would be delighted to hear from you if:

  • are able to work as part of a team
  • have the time to commit to being a governor
